A transition plan is required for public agencies who solicit federal funding for trail and
sidewalk facilities. An ADA transition plan details agencies current services, policies, and practices to
ensure persons with disabilities are protected from discrimination on the basis of a disability.
Elk River currently maintains 629 pedestrian ramps on the public sidewalk and trail system. Of these
facilities, 72% are substantially compliant with current ADA standards by meeting 4 or more of the 7
metrics measured as part of the self-evaluation.
Continual improvements will be made in replacement of non-compliant ramps as part of capital street
improvement projects detailed in the Capital Improvement Plan
Tabulations of the self-evaluation and a map of our pedestrian ramps are included in the appendices of
the attached Transition Plan.
Financial Impact
N/A
Attachments
■ Elk River ADA Transition Plan
The Elk River Vision
A PehoMing community 2a itb revolutionary and spirited resourcefulness, exceptional POWERED By
service, and community engagement that encourages and inspires prosperity INAWRE1
