EOty1 ,., Request for Action
River
To Item Number
Mayor and City Council 4.6
Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by
Consent December 18, 2017 Justin Femrite, P.E.
Item Description Reviewed by
Resolution Approving and Authorizing Execution Cal Portner, City Administrator
of MnDOT Delegated Contract Process Agreement Reviewed by
No. 1029944
Action Requested
Adopt,by motion, a resolution approving the attached Delegated Contract Process (DCP) Agreement
No. 1029944 with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), and authorizing the Mayor
and City Clerk to sign said Agreement.
Background/Discussion
Attached is a copy of the proposed DCP Agreement between MnDOT and the City of Elk River for
federal participation in construction projects. This agreement is very similar to the current standing
agreement approved by the City Council in March 2003 and again in December 2011.
The agreement allows MnDOT to act as the city's agent in dispersing federal money on all local
transportation projects. The wording in this new agreement has been reworked in a minor way; therefore,
MnDOT is asking that all cities that have federal projects in the past and anticipate federal projects in the
future re-adopt the revised agreement.
If this agreement is not approved by the City of Elk River it could cause delay or failure to recover federal
money on future construction projects.
Staff has reviewed the agreement and recommends approval.
Financial Impact
N/A
Attachments
■ Resolution
■ Agreement No. 1029944
The Elk River Vision
A PehoMing community 2a itb revolutionary and spirited resourcefulness, exceptional POWERED By
service, and community engagement that encourages and inspires prosperity INAWRE1
