During the public hearing, the applicant and his contractor indicated the goal of the extra accessory <br /> structure was to avoid having equipment parked outside and provide an area for indoor hay storage. The <br /> applicant could store hay and equipment within the existing building,but they may have to reduce the <br /> size of the arena area or reduce the number of stalls in the barn. <br /> No one else spoke for or against the request. <br /> Staff was asked by the applicant if the city has granted variances for additional accessory structure square <br /> footage in the past. Staff noted there were a few in the 1980s. Since the meeting, staff found one in 1997 <br /> and two in 1998.
