THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />9. <br /> <br />Other Business <br /> <br />Councilmember Schuldt requested staff to investigate the curbside <br />newspaper boxes that have been installed in some parts of the City. He <br />indicated that the newspaper boxes are sticking out too far and will <br />interfere with the snowplows. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schuldt questioned whether the City Council authorized a <br />building permit for the storage shed that was constructed in the <br />softball field complex. The City Administrator indicated that no <br />authorization had been given but a building permit was obtained. The <br />City Administrator stated that in the future any construction taking <br />place on City-owned property would be brought to the City Council for <br />authorization. <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />City Administrator Update <br /> <br />10.1. <br /> <br />Landfill <br /> <br />Peter Beck, City Attorney, updated the Council on the Elk River <br />Landfill status. He indicated that at the end of June, the City <br />Council gave the Landfill 30 days to comply with the conditional use <br />permit. Peter Beck indicated that the landfill has not complied. It <br />was the consensus of the City Council to proceed with the lawsuit to <br />bring the Landfill into compliance with the conditional use permit. <br />
