Consider WWTP UV Building Bids and Review Project <br /> <br />City Engineer Terry Maurer stated that the City received two bids for <br />the disinfection building at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. He stated <br />that both bids are unacceptable as the low bid was approximately twice <br />the amount anticipated for the project. He suggested that the Council <br />reject the bids and recommended that City staff act as the General <br />Contractor and hire subcontractors to complete the various work items. <br />This approach should allow the project to be completed within the <br />project estimate. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO REJECT <br />CONSTRUCTION AND BARBARO SA CONSTRUCTION FOR <br />PLANT UV BUILDING AND AUTHORIZE STAFF <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> <br />THE BIDS FROM GRIDOR <br />THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT <br />TO PROCEED WITH THE PROJECT. <br />THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4.8. Fresno Street Change Order <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />City Engineer Terry Maurer stated that Paul Bell has requested the City <br />to reconstruct his entire driveway from his garage slab to the street. <br />Terry Maurer stated that Mr. Bell's driveway was impacted the greatest <br />in the Fresno Street project. Councilmember Dietz stated that there is <br />some incline on all of the driveways, but he did not notice anything <br />more significant in this project than in other projects. He stated <br />that reconstruction of this driveway could set a precedent. <br /> <br />Councilmember Scheel stated that she saw three driveways that were <br />inclined and then leveled off. She indicated that Mr. Bell's concern <br />regarding his boat motor hitting on the driveway from the leveling off <br />area was legitimate. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmgren suggested taking the hump <br />driveway so that he will not have a problem with his <br />the bottom. <br /> <br />out of Mr. Bell's <br />motor hitting on <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO DIRECT THE CITY ENGINEER TO MODIFY PAUL <br />BELL'S DRIVEWAY. COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 3-2. Mayor Duitsman and Councilmember Dietz opposed. <br /> <br />Terry Maurer informed the Council that this could cost anywhere from <br />$1,500 to $2,000. The City Administrator indicated that there may be <br />other people who will request that same treatment in this project. <br />Councilmember Holmgren noted that his motion included only Paul Bell's <br />driveway and no other driveways in the area. <br /> <br />4.9. Set Public Hearing to Consider Request for Tax Increment Financing <br />Assistance (EDA Main Street Redevelopment Project) <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Mayor Duitsman introduced Linda Frederickson. Linda Frederickson <br />stated that she is aware that the Council is in the process of setting <br />a public hearing to consider Tax Increment Financing (TIF) assistance <br />for Kjellberg's Carpet and Interiors who are proposing to redevelop the <br />
