<br />CONSTRUCTION PRACTICES THAT MINIMIZE EROSION. THE LOCATION OF
<br />AREAS NOT TO BE DISTURBED MUST BE DELINEATED (E.G. WITH FLAGS,
<br />STAKES, SIGNS, SILT FENCE, ETC.) ON THE DEVELOPMENT SITE BEFORE

<br />• ALL EXPOSED SOIL AREAS WITHIN 200 FEET OF A SURFACE WATER OR

<br />• PIPE OUTLETS MUST BE PROVIDED WITH TEMP. OR PERMANENT ENERGY

<br />SEDIMENT CONTROL PRACTICES
<br />• SEDIMENT CONTROL PRACTICES MUST MINIMIZE SEDIMENT ENTERING
<br />SURFACE WATERS. DITCHES AND SEDIMENT BASINS REQUIRE SEDIMENT
<br />CONTROL PRACTICES ONLY AS APPROPRIATE FOR SITE CONDITIONS. IF
<br />DOWN GRADE SYSTEM IS OVERLOADED, ADDITIONAL UPGRADE PRACTICES

<br />• ALL WATER FROM DEWATERING MUST BE DISCHARGED IN A MANNER THAT
<br />DOES NOT CAUSE NUISANCE CONDITIONS, EROSION, OR INUNDATION OF
<br />WETLANDS CAUSING SIGNIFICANT ADVERSE IMPACT TO THE WETLAND.
<br />INSPECTIONS AND MAINTENANCE
<br />• THE CONTRACTOR MUST APPOINT SOMEONE TO INSPECT THE
<br />CONSTRUCTION SITE ONCE EVERY SEVEN DAYS DURING ACTIVE
<br />CONSTRUCTION AND WITHIN 24 HOURS AFTER A RAINFALL EVENT OF
<br />GREATER THAN 0.5 INCHES IN 24 HOURS. ALL INSPECTIONS MUST BE
<br />RECORDED IN WRITING AND RETAINED PER M.P.C. A. N.P.D.E.S.

<br />POLLUTION PREVENTION MANAGEMENT MEASURES
<br />• SOLID WASTE MUST BE DISPOSED OF PER M.P.C.A. REQUIREMENTS.
<br />• HAZARDOUS MATERIALS MUST BE STORED AND DISPOSED OF PER M.P.C.A

<br />• EXTERNAL WASHING OF CONSTRUCTION VEHICLES MUST BE LIMITED TO A
<br />DEFINED AREA OF THE SITE. RUNOFF MUST BE CONTAINED AND WASTE
<br />PROPERLY DISPOSED OF. NO ENGINE DEGREASING IS ALLOWED ON SITE.
<br />FINAL STABILIZATION
<br />• THE PERMITEE (THE OWNER/DEVELOPER AND THE CONTRACTOR WHO
<br />SIGNS THE MPCA NPDES/SDS APPLICATION FOR GENERAL STORM -WATER
<br />PERMIT FOR CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY) MUST ENSURE FINAL STABILIZATION
<br />OF THE SITE. A NOTICE OF TERMINATION MUST BE SUBMITTED WITHIN 30
<br />DAYS OF FINAL STABILIZATION.
<br />• FINAL STABILIZATION CAN BE ACHIEVED IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING
<br />WAYS:
<br />I.) ALL SOIL DISTURBING ACTIVITIES HAVE BEEN COMPLETED AND MORE
<br />THAN 70% OF THE SURFACE STABILIZED WITH UNIFORM PERENNIAL
<br />VEGETATIVE COVER AND;
<br />A. ALL DITCHES ARE STABILIZED;

<br />1. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING GRADING OF SLOPES 3:1 OR GREATER,
<br />SLOPES MUST BE STABILIZED WITH WOOD FIBER BLANKET (OR
<br />OTHER METHOD APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER) OVER APPROVED
<br />SEED MIXTURE AND A MINIMUM OF 4" TOPSOIL
<br />2. ALL EROSION CONTROL INSTALLATIONS SHALL REMAIN IN PLACE
<br />AND BE MAINTAINED IN GOOD CONDITION BY THE CONTRACTOR
<br />UNTIL THE SITE HAS BEEN RE -VEGETATED, AT WHICH TIME IT
<br />SHALL BE REMOVED. FOR PROPOSED PAVED SURFACE AREAS, THE
<br />CONTRACTOR MAY REMOVE NECESSARY SILT FENCING TO
<br />CONSTRUCT ROADWAYS WHILE MAINTAINING ADEQUATE EROSION
<br />CONTROL IN ADJACENT AREAS.
<br />3. SUFFICIENT TOPSOIL SHALL BE STOCKPILED TO ALLOW FOR THE
<br />REPLACEMENT OF A MINIMUM OF 4" OF TOPSOIL FOR DISTURBED
<br />AREAS TO BE RE -VEGETATED.
<br />4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SCHEDULE SITE GRADING, UTILITY
<br />INSTALLATION AND ROADWAY CONSTRUCTION SO THAT THE
<br />GENERAL SITE CAN BE MULCHED AND RE -SEEDED SOON AFTER
<br />DISTURBANCE. ALL DISTURBED AREAS SHALL BE SEEDED AND
<br />MULCHED WITHIN 14 DAYS AFTER COMPLETION OF FINAL GRADING
<br />OR AFTER 14 DAYS OF GRADING INACTIVITY.
<br />EROSION CONTROL MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
<br />1. INSPECT SILT FENCES IMMEDITATELY AFTER EACH RAINFALL AND
<br />AT LEAST DAILY DURING A PROLONGED RAINFALL. IMMEDIATELY
<br />REPAIR FAILED OR FAILING SILT FENCE.
<br />2. SEDIMENT REMOVAL -SEDIMENT DEPOSITS SHOULD BE REMOVED
<br />AFTER EACH STORM EVENT. THEY MUST BE REMOVED WHEN
<br />DEPOSITS REACH APPROXIMATELY ONE-HALF THE HEIGHT OF THE
<br />BARRIER.
<br />3. REPLACEMENT -FABRIC SHALL BE REPLACED PROMPTLY WHEN IT
<br />DECOMPOSES OR BECOMES INEFFECTIVE BEFORE THE BARRIER IS
<br />NO LONGER NECESSARY.
<br />ANY SEDIMENT REMAINING IN PLACE AFTER THE SILT FENCE OR
<br />FILTER FABRIC IS NO LONGER REQUIRED SHALL BE DRESSED TO
<br />CONFORM WITH THE EXISTING GRADE, PREPARED AND SEEDED
<br />WITH THE APPROPRIATE SEED MIX, AS DIRECTED BY THE
<br />ENGINEER.

<br />I. The Road Drain—Curb & Gutter model consists of a reusable, open topped receptacle that
<br />sets inside the strom sewer grate. An incorporation rear deflector plate is connected
<br />to the receptacle directing the water into the basin for filtration.
<br />2. The Road Drain—Curb & Gutter model has a replaceable filter cartridge.
<br />3. The Filter media shall meet all local specifications for inlet protection.
<br />Maintenance:
<br />I. Check Filter media after each rain event. Clean or replace if sediment clogs filter.
<br />2. Remove sediment and debris from the receptacle after each rain event.
