Variance Request by Gerald and Cecelia Sneft/V-93-06 <br /> <br />Gary Schmitz indicated <br />letter requesting that <br />reimbursed. <br /> <br />that Gerald and Cecelia Sneft have submitted a <br />their application be withdrawn and fee <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL <br />REQUEST BY GERALD AND <br />FEE BE REIMBURSED. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />MOVED THAT NO ACTION BE TAKEN ON THE VARIANCE <br />CECELIA SNEFT AND FURTHER THAT THE APPLICATION <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br /> <br />10. Other Business <br /> <br />WIF/Water Impact Fee <br /> <br />Councilmember Farber indicated that he does not feel that the Water <br />Impact Fee recently adopted by the City Council is fair in dealing with <br />restaurants. He stated that when he voted to adopt the WIF he had no <br />idea that restaurants would be paying the high amount of money that is <br />required with this fee. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Lori Johnson, Finance Director, indicated that the fee <br />equivalency units which are used by the metro area. <br />Farber stated that he felt something more fair should be <br />the present requirement will be counterproductive. <br /> <br />is based on <br />Councilmember <br />developed as <br /> <br />Councilmember Dietz indicated that when the Council discussed the WIF <br />policy, he argued against the policy at that time. He further <br />indicated that since the WIF has been initiated, the Utilities have <br />planned for this fee in their budget. <br /> <br />Mayor Duitsman requested Lori Johnson to discuss the options with Elk <br />River Utilities and report back to the Council. <br /> <br />Sewer Connection Time Period <br /> <br />Councilmember Scheel requested to see a copy of the ordinance giving <br />the people in Westwood two extra years to connect to City sewer. The <br />City Clerk informed Councilmember Scheel that this ordinance was not <br />adopted. Councilmember Scheel requested that this ordinance be brought <br />to the Council for adoption. <br /> <br />Sherburne County Abstract <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Councilmember Deitz indicated that he had received a letter from Vern <br />Draxler regarding the services from Sherburne county Abstract. He <br />indicated that Mr. Draxler had a complaint regarding Sherburne County <br />Abstract in that they were notifying residents in a larger area than <br />the required 350 feet which cost the applicant more money. Gary <br />Schmitz indicated that the City has become aware of this problem and <br />will be changing services. He stated that the City will be suggesting <br />that people use Sherburne County Mapping Department for this service in <br />the future. <br />
