Call Meetina To Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the joint meeting of the Elk River City <br />Council and Park and Recreation Commission was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by <br />Mayor Duitsman. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Consider 4/25194 Citv Council Aqenda <br />j <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO APPROVE THE 4/25/94 CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />3. Consider 4/18/94 City Council Minutes <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO APPROVE THE 4/18/94 CITY COUNCIL MINUTES. <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />5. Joint Meetina with Park and Recreation Commission <br /> <br />Mayor Duitsman begun the joint meeting with a discussion on future major east- <br />west transportation routes through Elk River and the need for a plan to be <br />established in order to facilitate future growth. The Mayor indicated that he <br />desires to avoid having a major east-west collector run through Woodland Trails <br />Park, but that the transportation needs of the community are a higher priority <br />than the development of the Woodland Trails Park. However, the Mayor <br />indicated that the City is open to looking at all alternatives that are available <br />and, that if possible, the Council would try to avoid disruption in this park. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Commission Chairman Dave Anderson stated that the Commission understands <br />the need for the transportation planning of the City and that this is a City Council <br />decision. However, Dave also indicated that the Commission would like to know <br />in the near future whether or not a road was planned in this vicinity so that they <br />can make appropriate plans for the development of this park. It was noted that <br />with the golf course in this vicinity and future open space potentially being <br />
