City Council Minutes February 28, 1994 Page 2 e 5.4. City Clerk reauest to attend annualllMC out-state conference Mayor Duitsman indicated a concern regarding the cost to travel to Alaska. The City Clerk indicated that the conference was included in the 1994 budget and that she would be able to stay within the budgeted amount. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY CLERK TO ATTEND THE 1994 NATIONAL IIMC CONFERENCE PROVIDED THE COST DOES NOT EXCEED THE BUDGETED AMOUNT. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 5.5. Consider reauest for conference attendance by plannina commissioners Dan Tveite indicated that the Planning Commission is requesting Council authorization to send Planning Commissioner Minton and Kreger to the national planning conference in San Francisco. Discussion was held regarding the cost of attending a conference in San Francisco. It was indicated that this was a budgeted expense and an appropriate learning opportunity for Commission members. e COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO AUTHORIZE PLANNING COMMISSIONERS MINTON AND KREGER TO ATTEND THE 1994 NATIONAL PLANNING CONFERENCE IN SAN FRANCISCO. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 5.7. Consider Sherburne County MSA petition COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO AUTHORIZE MAYOR DUITSMAN TO SIGN A PETITION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER REQUESTING THE OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT AND BUDGET TO RESCIND ITS ACTION OF REMOVING SHERBURNE COUNTY FROM THE MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL METROPOLITAN STATISTICAL AREA. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 5.8. Consider Charitable Gamblina Premise Permit Reauest for Elk River youth Hockey The City Clerk informed the Council that Elk River Youth Hockey has made application to operate pull-tabs from the location of Dick's Riverfront Bar. She stated that the Jaycees have been operating pull-tabs from Dick's Riverfront Bar but have rescinded their license. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 94-16 A RESOLUTION APPROVING PREMISE PERMIT FOR ELK RIVER YOUTH HOCKEY. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 5.9. Consider Reauest to Purchase Map File Cabinet e The City Administrator informed the Council that the City has completed its purchase of aerial photos for the City of Elk River. He indicated that the Planning Department is requesting to purchase a file cabinet for storing the aerial photos. The cost of the file cabinet is $1,479.80.
