Call Meetino To Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River City <br />Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Duitsman. <br /> <br />2. Consider 2117/94 City Council Aoenda <br /> <br />Item 2.0. - Open Mike, was added to the February 17, 1994, City Council <br />agenda. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO APPROVE THE FEBRUARY 17, 1994, CITY <br />COUNCIL AGENDA AS AMENDED. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />2.0. <br /> <br />Open Mike <br /> <br />Linda Frederickson, representing the Ad-hoc Committee for Restoration of the <br />Old Courthouse, requested the City Council to endorse their support for a grant <br />application for $1.3 million. She stated that the Committee is not asking the City <br />to write the grant or give financial support. <br /> <br />County Commissioner Arne Engstrom stated that the Sherburne County Board <br />voted to endorse the grant approximately 9 months ago. Commissioner <br />Engstrom explained that it would be advantageous for City to also give the <br />project its blessing. <br /> <br />Linda Frederickson indicated that the grant application will be awarded in June <br />and the funds will be released in September, 1994. She explained that twenty <br />percent (20%) of the grant amount must be raised locally which would be <br />approximately $200,000. She further explained that they will not receive funding <br />unless the committee can document that the 20% will be there. <br /> <br />e <br />
