Chief of Police Tom Zerwas reviewed with the City Council his manpower <br />shortage that is expected soon in the police department. This issue was outlined <br />in a 1/14/94 memo to the Mayor and City Council. Discussion took place by the <br />City Council on the need to hire one or two additional officers from the <br />employment list developed four months ago. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO APPROVE THE HIRING OF TWO ADDITIONAL <br />POLICE OFFICERS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE UPON THE RESIGNATION OF GREG JONES. <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-1. <br />Councilmember Dietz opposed. <br /> <br />6.6. Discussion took place regarding a time for the City Council to hold a personnel <br />worksession. It was the consensus of the Council to hold this meeting on 2/14/94 <br />both before and after the EDA meeting. <br /> <br />5.
