<br />/ <br />j <br />,l <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2001 Arts Alliance <br />Minutes of General Meeting on <br />Thursday, October 28, 1999 <br /> <br />Members Present: Karen 'Kiefer, Jane Lindenfelser, Nancy Gongoll, Lois Swanson, <br />Jan Ouelette, Darlene Solber.g, Elaine Anderson, Harvey Schroeder, Sara Hartman, <br />Dave Raymond, Tony Darkenwald, Cliff Lundberg, George Raymond, Molly <br />Raymond, DaveBeauvais, Cari Rock, Michelle.Berg, Sherri Gutkaes (guest mural <br />artist), Isobel Stander, and John Stander (guest speaker) <br /> <br />The meeting began at approximately 4:30 p. m. The minutes of the September <br />meeting were approved as printed. <br /> <br />Financial Report: There is $4,942.65 in the checking account. We have not requested <br />the 3 Rivers grant monies yet. <br /> <br />Chairperson position: Harvey Schroeder has agreed to cochair with Tony. (Thanks <br />Harvey!) <br /> <br />/MuriLP.t:: Cliff Lundberg reported that the wall preparation figure is still <br />$11,000. The building's owner and the city are not current sources for any funding. <br />Isobel Stander will get the name of a contractor she has worked with for another bid. <br />The idea of doing the mural on separate panels was again addressed. Cliff . <br />introduced Sherri Gutkaes who was the artist for the Princeton mural. She shared <br />her experience on the Princeton project. That mural was 13' x 53', was sandblasted . <br />and sealed for $500 and an anti graffiti coat was applied. Environmentally friendly <br />products were used. The committee will try to come up with three ideas to present <br />to the large group so that a decision can be made to go forward or not. <br /> <br />ISD 728 Referendum: Members were reminded to become informed about the <br />issues and to vote November 2. <br /> <br />Spirit of Our Gift Poster Competition and Exhibit: Today was the deadline for <br />entries. The committee will meet mid-November to plan the exhibit which will be <br />on Sunday, December 5, 3 p.m. at St. Andrew's Church, Elk River. <br /> <br />Holiday community project: Tony asked if we would be willing to offer our help to <br />the City of Elk River for their holiday decorating and activities this year. No one was <br />able to help out this time. The Chamber is planning activities including an ice <br />sculpture display. <br /> <br />Artists' Gathering: Dave Beauvais and Sara Hartman volunteered to help organize <br />a gathering in February. It will be promoted with newspaper announcements and an <br />invitational mailing. <br />
