<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />[DISCUSSION DRAFT] <br /> <br />is prorated for eligible regular part-time employees according to the number of hours worked. <br />Leave with pay is limited to the following: <br /> <br />Up to five (5) days/year <br /> <br />Husband, Wife, Mother, Father, Son, Daughter, <br />Brother, Sister, Step Mother, Step Father, Step <br />Son, Step Daughter, Step Brother, Step Sister <br /> <br />Up to three (3) days/year <br /> <br />Son-In-Law, Daughter-In-Law, Mother-In-Law, <br />Father-In-Law, Grandparent, Grandchild <br /> <br />One (1) day/year <br /> <br />Employee's <br />Nephew, <br />Godchild <br /> <br />Aunt, Uncle, <br />Sister-In-Law, <br /> <br />Cousin, Niece, <br />Brother-In-Law, <br /> <br />Additional time off for bereavement leave may be granted and charged to vacation leave or <br />compensatory time, if any. Employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement shall <br />receive bereavement benefits as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. <br /> <br />General Leave <br /> <br />The City recognizes that circumstances of a unique personal nature may cause an employee to <br />seek time off without pay. The City may, at its sole discretion, grant unpaid personal leaves of <br />absence to employees ("General Leave"). Approval is required of the employee's immediate <br />supervisor, the Department Head and the City Administrator before General Leave will be <br />granted. In no event will General Leave be granted for longer than ninety (90) days, unless <br />special approval is received from the City Administrator. <br /> <br />Vacation and sick leave will not accrue during a General Leave. Further, the employee on <br />General Leave will not be eligible for holiday pay during the leave. The City will not contribute <br />to the cost of insurance premiums for an employee on General Leave. <br /> <br />Employees are expected to return from General Leave when the reason for the leave expires. <br />Employees who take a General Leave have no right to reinstatement. <br /> <br />18 <br />
