September14,2017 <br />MichaelHecker <br />ParksandRecreationDirector <br />CityofElkRiver <br />13065OronoParkway <br />ElkRiver,MN55330 <br />RE:RequestforProposalsforElkRiverIceArenaandLionJohnWeichtParkFacilities <br />DearMikeandSelectionCommittee: <br />292DesignGroupispleasedtosubmitourproposalandhopetoworkwiththeCityofElkRiver <br />ontheElkRiverIceArenaandLionJohnWeichtParkFacilities.Webelievethefollowingare <br />uniquequalificationsofourteam: <br />Since2011,292DesignGrouphasbeenworkingwiththeCityofElkRiveron <br />variousplanningstudiesfortheicearenaexpansionandrenovation.Forthisproject,wehave <br />assembledanexceptionallystrong,proventeamofexpertstoassistyou:StevensEngineers, <br />NelsonRudie&Associates,andAndersonJohnsonAssociates.Thisisthesameteamthatjust <br />completedthe$30.4MnewShakopeeIceArenaandCommunityCenterRenovationprojectΓa <br />projectverylikeyoursinscheduleandcomplexity. <br />BecauseofЋВЋ͸ƭhistorywiththisprojectandourexperienceof <br />designingover35icearenasacrossthecountryΓalongwithmultiplesportsfieldprojectsΓwe <br />havetheexpertisetodeliverfirstclassfacilities.Throughourexperience,wehavelearnedthe <br />importanceofworkingcloselywithcitystaffandstakeholdersinthedevelopmentofcommunity <br />facilities,andunderstandtheneedforthesefacilitiestooperateatthehighestleveltoprovide <br />thebestservicetothecommunity. <br />Becauseofourextensiveexperiencewithcommunityrecreationalfacilitieswe <br />understandthescopeofservicesrequiredtodeliverasuccessfulprojectandcanprovidethese <br />servicesforacompetitivefee.The292DesignGroupteamdoesnotwanttoloseacontract <br />basedonfee;therefore,ifaĭƚƒƦĻƷźƷƚƩ͸ƭfeeislowerthanourproposedfee,the292teamis <br />preparedtomatchtheĭƚƒƦĻƷźƷƚƩ͸ƭfeeandscopeofservices.292wouldliketoreviewand <br />discussthescopewiththeCitypriortocommittingtothisadjustmenttoensureanequivalent <br />andappropriatelevelofservice. <br />Ourteamisreadytostartontheseimportantprojects,andeachteammemberiscommittedto <br />providingElkRiverwiththepersonaldedicationitdeserves.WeknowourƷĻğƒ͸ƭrelevant <br />experienceandpassionforthisprojecttypewillmaketheseprojectsatruesuccess.We <br />appreciatetheopportunitytosubmitourqaulificationsandlookforwardtodiscussinghowwe <br />canassistyouinthissignificanteffort. <br />Sincerely, <br />TomBetti,AIA/NCARB <br />Partner <br />292DesignGroup <br />
