DCT 1 199~

~
INITIATIVE
FOUNDATION

.

September 28, 1999

Stephanie Klinzing, Mayor
City of Elk River
PO Box 490
Elk River. MN 553300-0490

Dear Ms. Klinzing:

We would like to thank the city once again for allowing us to present our update at the City
Council meeting last night. In response to a question raised by one of the Council
members. we have received contributions from four of the five cities in Sherburne County
with the cities of Zimmerman and Becker providing funding at the requested level ($1.50
per capita): To date, we have received donations from II of the 17 cities in Wright County
with seven cities providing donations at the requested level. The attached summary
provides detailed information on the current status of our fundraising efforts in both
Sherburne and Wright Counties.

As you can see from the attached summary, fiscal year 2000 funding requests were sent to
Becker, Big Lake, Clear Lake, Elk River. Buffalo. Clearwater, Dayton, Delano. Hanover.
Howard Lake, Monticello. Otsego. Rockford, South Haven and St. Michael requesting the
balance of the original $1.50 per capita request. The communities of Cokato and Waverly
had completed their current pledges and were asked for continuing support. Communities
with outstanding pledges such as Zimmerman, Albertville, Annandale, Maple Lake and
. Montrose received an annual progress report of activities in their county.

We are happy to share that the city of Waverly already approved a second gift to the
Capacity Fund Campaign once again using the $1.50 per capita guideline ($957). Cokato
shared that they plan to continue supporting our efforts with a FYOO gift. and Rockford
notified us that they are also considering an additional gift.

If you have any further questions on city contributions, please contact me at 877/632-9255.

We hope that the city of Elk River will continue to support our work in the region through a
charitable contribution ofSI4.929 (the balance of the original request, which would
represent a total contribution equivalent to $1.50 per capita). Your continued support of
the Capacity Fund Campaign will guarantee that more individuals and communities receive
economic and community development assistance in the region.

Thank you for your interest and support.

Sincerely,

~~~
Connie Marcyes
Director of Development
CENTRAL MINNESOTA'S
INITIATIVE FUND
.
Enclosure
70 SE FIRST AVENUE
LITTLE FALLS.
