Ms. Emerson stated <br />that by the time the city decides to build a second liquor store, a discount liquor <br />store could be located in Big Lake or Anoka which would create serious <br />competition. Ms. Emerson stated that she felt everyone would agree that <br />medical care is more important than liquor. <br /> <br />Linda Olson, nurse in the Elk River community, stated that she is very much aware <br />of the trouble the elderly have in accessing medical clinics. <br /> <br />Jim Tacheny, 13070 Island View Drive, expressed his support for the proposed <br />clinic. <br /> <br />There being no further public comments, Mayor Klinzing closed the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />MAYOR KLINZING MOVED TO TABLE CONSIDERATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 99-_, <br />TO REZONE CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM C4 (NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL) TO C3 <br />(HIGHWAY COMMERCIAL) TO THE OCTOBER 25, 1999, CITY COUNCIL MEETING. <br />COUNCILMEMBER THOMPSON SECONDED THE MOTION.
