Proclamation <br /> Designating October I to October 7 as <br /> Minnesota Manufacturing Week <br /> WHEREAS, Manufacturing is a dynamic and robust industry, crucial to the health and strength of <br /> Minnesota's diverse economy; and <br /> WHEREAS, The manufacturing industry contributed $48.2 billion to Minnesota's economy in <br /> 2016, and at 16 percent,is the largest sector contributing to the state's private gross domestic <br /> product; and <br /> WHEREAS, In 2016,workers took home $20.3 billion in wages from Minnesota manufacturing <br /> jobs, the second-highest amount among the state's business sectors; and <br /> WHEREAS, Manufactured exports brought$18 billion into the Minnesota economy in 2016; and <br /> WHEREAS, Manufacturing provides 318,000 highly skilled,well-paying jobs,which significantly <br /> contribute to Minnesota's high standard of living and economic vitality; and <br /> WHEREAS, Manufacturing in Minnesota pays an average annual wage of$74,360,which is 17 <br /> percent higher than the state's overall average wage; and <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I,John J.
