I hear more about the Bank of Elk River,as it sponsors a lot of events for kids. <br /> If so,what do you know about Energy City? <br /> Not familiar. <br /> What comes to mind when you hear Energy City? <br /> I think of the plant on Highway 10, and how they burn the trash for energy. My kids have toured <br /> the plant,and I have known a few different employees at various times. <br /> The City of Elk River was awarded the title of Energy City in 1997, do you know why the <br /> City of Elk River received this designation? <br /> No. I had not heard anything about it. <br /> Essentially Energy City promotes energy efficiency and sustainability, do you know what <br /> this means? <br /> Yes. <br /> If so,is energy efficiency and sustainability important to you? <br /> It's important not to ruin the environment that we have. To be responsible with resources we <br /> have,but not at the sacrifice of jobs or people's ability to make a living. <br /> Do you participate in current Energy City initiatives,such as the High-Five program? <br /> No.We recycle. That's about it. <br /> Powered by Nature <br /> Have you heard of Powered by Nature? <br /> I've seen"Powered by Nature."
