APPENDIX ENERGY CITY COMMISSION
INTERVIEWS
Energy City Commission Member Five
Matt: Hi,this is Matt Crandall with the University of St. Thomas.
Commission Member: Good morning, how are you doing today?
Matt:Good,and you?
Commission Member: Good,thank you.
Matt: Great, well just to recap, I am here with my team now, and we are working with Tom
and Amanda on Energy City and its role. We have a few questions for you and,if you do not
mind,we will be taking notes.
Commission Member: No,that is just fine.
Matt:Great,Kallie will be asking you the questions.
Kallie: Hi, it's Kallie. Thank you again for speaking with us. We have a few questions for
you today.Just to start, how did you become involved with the Energy City Commission.
Well I've been to only one meeting so far, but I've been on the City Council. I have a non-voting
situation. I am a liaison to the Energy City Commission, and we rotate that every couple years.
Previously, I was the liaison to the Library Board. We have a LEED library building here in Elk
River. It is a $3 million venture that we paid-off last year. The other assignment that I had was on
the Heritage Preservation Commission. Nonetheless, I am a rookie with my assignment with the
Energy Commission. I traveled to Roseville to work for many years and so the City activity was
not at the forefront of my mind at the time, but since I have been retired, I have gotten more
involved.
Kallie: That's great, you certainly have a lot of experience. What do you see as the role of
the Energy City Commission?
0
Page 83 ; UNIVERSITY of ST.THOMAS
'_M_-AGYC]
Opus College of Business
