APPENDIX ENERGY CITY COMMISSION
INTERVIEWS
Kallie: That's great, how important is Energy City to you?
It is pretty important to what I do in the community right now, especially as running the waste
energy project. We want to be good neighbors. We want to be active, to educate, and to do tours,
and Energy City allows us to do that in a way that makes sense to the residents. Thousands of
tours come through each year and that's a big part of what we do. Without Energy City that
would be harder
Kallie: Is there anything that would make Energy City more important to you or more
important to the community?
Not really,it is just about right.
Kallie: How do you see Energy City being perceived by the Elk River community?
I don't know how others perceive it. I hope they see it in a positive light, but I don't know how
others view it.
Kallie: How do you see Energy City and Powered by Nature, do you see them working
together or as two separate messages,or how do you see the relationship?
I haven't seen very many tangible areas for Powered by Nature, but I would hope they go
together.
Kallie: Do you see Energy City as a brand or as a nickname?
I see it as an educational tool, but I see it as a brand for the City to put themselves out there and
ways to market that brand.
Kallie: In your current efforts to promote Energy City, what do you think has worked well
to communicate and educate the City of Elk River residents?
0
Page 81 ; UNIVERSITY of ST.THOMAS
'-M--AGYC]
Opus College of Business
