APPENDIX G: CITY OF ELK RIVER RESIDENT
INTERVIEWS
Green. I do not know much more about Energy City. I think of it more as a catch phrase. Being
diversified.
The City of Elk River was awarded the title of Energy City in 1997, do you know why the
City of Elk River received this designation?
I knew about the designation. I believe it was due to the recycling center and Great River Energy.
That's how I associate it, Great River Energy, converting trash to energy; that's when it came
together.
Essentially Energy City promotes energy efficiency and sustainability, do you know what
this means?
Yes.
If so,is energy efficiency and sustainability important to you?
It's important for the future if we want to have enough. If we are going to protect the
environment,we need to look at things now and put it into practice.
Do you participate in current Energy City initiatives, such as the High-Five program?
No. I know about recycling and using solar panels for energy.
Powered by Nature
Have you heard of Powered by Nature?
I've seen "Powered by Nature." There are so many catch phrases. Right now there are so many
other things that take precedence.
If so,what do you know about Powered by Nature?
To me it's things like wind and solar power.
Promotion and Communication
0
Page 97 UNIVERSITY of ST.THOMAS
'_M_-AGYC]
Opus College of Business
