There was a <br />total of three bids submitted. The following list provides the bidder and their total bid. <br /> <br />Redstone Construction Co. <br />Glenwood Bridge, Inc. <br />Park Construction Co. <br /> <br />$525,513.53 <br />$545,869.60 <br />$550,551.25 <br /> <br />The low bid submitted by Redstone Construction Co. is well within the project budget. The City <br />received federal funds for this project in the amount of $530,250.00. This pays for 80% of the <br />construction costs. The City is required to provide a local match of 20% or $132,550.00, <br />therefore the total project budget was $662,800.00. Redstone Construction Co. is a qualified <br />bidder. Since this is a federally funded project, Mn/DOT is the agency that actually awards the <br />contract, however, they do require the City to recommend to the Commissioner of <br />Transportation the award of the contract. Attached is the certificate they use for the <br />recommendation of award. We would recommend that this certificate be adopted by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />If you have any questions regarding this project, I will be attendance at your August 9, 1999 City <br />Council Meeting. <br /> <br />Sincerely, <br /> <br />Howard R.
