Topics include: <br />what is probate and how to avoid it, using Powers of Attorney and Health <br />Care Directives to plan for incapacity, and what the difference is between <br />wills and trusts. <br />The presenter, Jill Adkins has practiced law for over 25 years, with a focus <br />on estate planning, guardianships, and conservatorships, planning for <br />incapacity, elder law, and probates. Space is limited! You will have time <br />to explore the market before heading back, or you may stay longer, on your <br />own if you choose. Pre-registration required. <br />Thurs June 16 1:30 p.m. <br />Meet at the Activity Center <br />Fee: Free <br />Act Your Age Workshop <br />During this workshop, acting your age could mean different things, from <br />very young to older than you actually are. This class will help you forget, <br />though temporarily, who you are, offering imaginative activities that even if <br />you tend to be shy, will be enjoyable. <br />Over her 30 years of teaching, instructor Harriette had taken several <br />acting classes, and gradually realized how much she enjoyed them. After <br />conducting an acting workshop for seniors at the Maple Grove Community <br />Center, Players in the Groove was formed. This group has performed <br />several times at the Activity Center, bringing laughter and fun to all. <br />Though this workshop may not lead to play production, the group may <br />decide they are having too much fun to stop and decide to continue on to <br />perform for other seniors. Pre-registration required. <br />Fri May 20 10 a.m. <br />Activity Center <br />Fee: $5 members $7 non members <br />Turn of the Century <br />Fashion Show <br />This style show starts out in the <br />1880s, when corsets were still <br />worn, skirts were long and full, <br />and ladies were well covered. We <br />move into the early 1900s when <br />the “pigeon” blouse became <br />popular and the “Gibson Girl” <br />was the stylish image. <br />The style show concludes with <br />the “Edwardian White” period <br />with a look at the “lingerie” style <br />of clothing.
