No dwelling unit shall have more than the following number of animals <br />in the city: <br />(1) <br />Domestic dogs (excluding hybrids with wolves, coyotes or jackals) properly vaccinated against <br />rabies: Two. <br />(2) <br />Domestic cats (excluding hybrids with ocelots or margays) properly vaccinated against rabies: Two. <br />(3) <br />Rodents such as hamsters, mice, gerbils, white rats, guinea pigs, chinchillas, or hedgehogs, capable of <br />being maintained continuously in a cage: Six. <br />(4) <br />Rabbits: Two. <br />(5) <br />Captive -bred species of common cage birds: Six. <br />(6) <br />Small nonvenomous snakes not to exceed six feet in length: Six. <br />(7) <br />Nonpoisonous lizards, iguanas, chameleons, salamanders and turtles: Six. <br />(8) <br />Fish, unless prohibited by state or federal law: No limit. <br />(9) <br />Domestically raised ferrets, properly vaccinated against rabies (must be vaccinated yearly): Two. <br />(e) <br />Raising honeybees. The keeping or maintaining of honeybees is prohibited in areas within the city <br />zoned R-1, R-2, R-3, R-4 and R-5. <br />Commercial dog kennels or cat shelters. The maintaining of a commercial dog kennel or cat shelter <br />is prohibited in all areas of the city except areas zoned commercial. <br />
