The first bid <br />opened was for the seal coating, having a total of 4 bidders. Therefore, we would recommend awarding the contract to Pearson Bros., <br />Inc. for the 1999 Seal Coat Improvement in the amount of $30,860.00. <br /> <br />The second bid opened was for the paving of the Railroad Trail. This project consists <br />of paving a 12 foot wide bituminous trail from the south end of the railroad grade to <br />County Road 33. There were a total of 6 bidders on this project. This is made <br />up of a $49,000 grant and a $49,000 city contribution. North Valley, Inc. has <br />previously successfully completed paving in the city of Elk River. They were <br />previously known as Valley Paving and just recently split into the north and south <br />operations.
