Parks&Recreation Commission Minutes Page 2 <br /> III <br /> January 11,2017 <br /> recommend to City Council to have regular commission meetings on March <br /> 9,2017 and October 17,2017 to avoid scheduling conflicts. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> 6.1. Parks and Recreation Master Plan Trails <br /> Mr. Hecker presented his staff report. <br /> Commissioner Niziolek shared to start with figuring out where the right of way <br /> properties are located to help in defining where trails will go. <br /> Commissioner Nystrom asked how the county will play into the planning. <br /> Chair Anderson said they could work with the County and their active plan. <br /> Commissioner Niziolek stated that there should be a special meeting when a trail <br /> goes into a corridor noting side specific location. <br /> Mr. Benoit shared that members should consider location of trails now and match <br /> the language to the plan and then the easements and slopes will be considered later <br /> in the planning process. <br /> Chair Anderson stated we are trying to preserve trails for the future growth and use. IIII <br /> Also need to learn what the different types of trails would look like in different areas <br /> of the city. <br /> Commissioner Nystrom discussed trail locations and connectivity and that it will take <br /> quite a bit of time and effort. <br /> Chair Anderson wants to identify location. <br /> Commissioner Niziolek stated that every intersection will need to be looked at for <br /> safety. <br /> Chair Anderson asked if a neighboring city would have staff to discuss trail planning <br /> with the commission. <br /> Mr. Sevcik asked what topics would be discussed. <br /> Chair Anderson stated that having a work session will give more detail to current <br /> map. <br /> NATURE III <br />
