<br />Elk River City Council Minutes <br />Mav 24. 1999 <br /> <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Wednesday, May 26, 1999, to consider the purchase of the Kirkeide house and <br />property. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO APPROVE THE ACQUISITION OF THE KIRKEIDE <br />HOUSE AND PROPERTY USING CITY DEVELOPMENT FUNDS WITH THE EDA HOLDING A <br />SPECIAL MEETING TO FORMALLY APPROVE THE ACQUISITION AND WITH THE EDA <br />BEING THE AGENCY THAT WILL HAVE OWNERSHIP OF THE PROPERTY AS PART OF THE <br />FUTURE BUSINESS PARK. COUNCILMEMBER THOMPSON SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing indicated she would vote against the motion as she feels the city is <br />moving too fast in the purchase of this property. <br /> <br />THE MOTION CARRIED 4-1. Mayor Klinzing opposed. <br /> <br />6.8. Review Summer Meeting Schedule <br /> <br />City Administrator Pat Klaers reviewed the summer meeting schedule with the <br />City Council. No special meetings were set at this time. <br /> <br />7. Other Business <br /> <br />7.1. <br /> <br />Cluster Housina - Mayor Klinzing indicated that she attended a planning <br />seminar regarding cluster housing. She stated that she feels this is <br />something the city should continue to research and would like to see the <br />city move forward in designing a workable ordinance to address cluster <br />housing. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />8. Staff Updates <br /> <br />City Administrator Pat Klaers advised the Council that the $72,000 fire department <br />truck chassis, which it approved last October, is now ready to be picked up. <br /> <br />The City Administrator informed the Council that police negotiations have begun. <br /> <br />9.
