<br />ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING <br />January(?) 12, 1907* <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Minn <br />Meeting at <br />in the Town <br />Sherburne an <br />Phoenix Hall <br />th <br />on the 12 day of - \[typed as in ledger; part of page missing\] <br />The meeting was called to <br />Town Clerk James Teller <br />chosen as Moderator of the <br />The Moderator, at the opening <br />meeting stated the business to be transacted and the order of same as follows: To elect one <br />Supervisor for the term of three years, to fill the place of John F. Blocker whose term expires, one <br />Town Clerk, one Treasurer, one Assessor, two Justice of the Peace, two Constable, one Overseer of <br />each Road District in said Town, and to do any other business proper to be done at said meeting. <br /> <br />That said business would be entertained in the following order: <br /> <br />st <br />1, the election by ballot of Town Officers: the polls to be kept open throughout the day. <br />nd <br />2, the general business of the town to be taken up and proceeded with until disposed of. <br /> <br />Proclamation of opening of the polls was then made by the Moderator and the polls opened and the <br />election of Town officers proceeded. <br /> <br />It was then on motion resolved that the compensation of the Town Officers elected at this meeting <br />shall be Two Dollars per day. <br /> <br />The Town Clerk read publicly the report of the Board of Auditors, including a statement of the <br />fiscal concerns of the Town and an estimate of the sums necessary for the current and incidental <br />expenses of the Town for the ensuing year. <br /> <br />On motion it was ordered that the following sums of money be raised by tax upon taxable property <br />in said Town: <br /> <br />\[part of page missing\] <br /> <br /> rposes $250.00 <br /> ge 800.00 <br /> $1050.00 <br /> <br /> ordered that the <br /> the placed be \[illegible\] for <br /> posting places. <br /> <br />
