Staff stated one -acre parcels can still be located in a neighborhood setting throughout the city. Also, the
2.5 acres was not a determination as to who had enough space, but rather a point that felt appropriate to
mitigate impacts to adjacent properties. Many of the concerns from the surveys had to do with how the
change would impact their property (noise, odor, values, etc.) which are easier to address on larger lot
sizes. Commission members also stated they liked not requiring permits on these lots, which was a
concern noted in the surveys.
The Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval.
Financial Impact
None
Attachments
■ March 28, 2017 Planning Commission Staff Memo
■ Second Survey Results
■ Stormwater Coordinator and Environmental Coordinator Memo
■ Ordinance Amendment Document
N:\Public Bodies\Agenda Packets\05-15-2017\Final\7.6 OA 17-03 sr CC 05-15-17.docx
