<br />Filed April 29, 1898, 8:10 P.M.: Official oath of H.D. Mills as Trustee of the Village of Elk River. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />April 29, 1898 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Village Council met at courthouse at 8 o’clock. <br /> <br />Present: H.C. Hastings, Pres.; C.T. Nickerson and H.D. Mills, Trustees; Chas. M. Babcock, <br />Rec. <br /> <br />The following resolutions were passed: <br /> <br />Whereas it having been proposed to the Village Council that certain changes in the present grade as <br />established in 1891 be changed at and near the junction of Main and Princeton streets in the Village <br />of Elk River, as shown and explained by Mr. W.F. Chadbourne at this meeting; <br /> <br />Resolved that the said Council do hereby decide that it is for the best interests of the Village that an <br />ordinance be drafted and passed for such a purpose, to be acted upon at as early a day as possible. <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 41 was presented and read by the President and was on motion adopted by the <br />following vote, by roll call: <br /> <br />Ayes: H.C. Hastings; C.T. Nickerson; H.D. Mills; and Chas. M. Babcock <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />C.W. Hayden tendered his resignation as village marshal to take effect May 10, 1898, and was on <br />motion accepted, and R. Grant was appointed in his place, and Rec. instructed to draw orders as <br />before. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed: <br /> <br />M.J. Kalihas, special watchman, $1.00 <br />Geo. Barrett, special watchman, $1.00 <br /> <br />No further business, adjourned. <br /> <br />Chas. M. Babcock, Recorder <br />
