Parks&Recreation Commission Minutes Page 4 <br /> March 9,2017 <br /> 9.1 Recreation Manager Report <br /> Mr. Benoit presented a slide show regarding the Open Gym program. <br /> 9.2 Park Superintendent Report <br /> Mr. Benoit presented the staff report adding that the Elk River Chamber sent a <br /> thank you to the parks maintenance crew for their efforts in the success of Shiver <br /> Elk River. <br /> 10. Election of Chair and Vice Chair <br /> Moved by Commissioner Sagan and seconded by Commissioner Ahlness to <br /> nominate Dave Anderson to be Commission Chair. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> Moved by Commissioner Sagan and seconded by Commissioner 30c to <br /> nominate Dave Kallemeyn to be Commission Vice-Chair. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> II. Announcements <br /> Chair Anderson thinks the eagle is sitting on eggs at Bailey Point Nature Preserve. <br /> 12. Adjourn to work session <br /> There being no further business, Chair Anderson adjourned the meeting of the Elk <br /> River Parks and Recreation Commission at 7:58 p.m. <br /> 13. Work session <br /> 13.1 Trails Master Plan <br /> The work session meeting of the Elk River Parks and Recreation Commission was <br /> called to order at 8:05 p.m. by Chair Anderson. <br /> Mr. Hecker introduced Andrew Witter, Public Works Director with Sherburne <br /> County. <br /> Mr. Witter shared the county's park, trail, and active living plan which was adopted <br /> in November 2016 by the Sherburne County Board. <br /> Residents complained of the lack of connectivity of the trail system, county wide.
