An initial site <br />inspection will be conducted prior to approval of the permit. With this in mind, the coop, run and fenced <br />area will need to be installed prior to a permit and chicken tags being issued. <br />Staff also recommends tagging the chickens. The cost of the permit is anticipated to cover the price of <br />the tags and site inspection. These tags will help code enforcement personnel easily detect those who do <br />verses those who do not have a permit. It will also help to return chickens to their rightful owner if they <br />get loose. The first time a loose chicken is identified, staff will work with the owner to return it to the <br />enclosure. The second offence will result in a suspended or revoked permit.
