<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />VII. <br /> <br />STRA TEGIES TO BE CARRIED FORWARD <br /> <br />Based on the fatal flaw analysis conducted on the transit technologies and the highway options in <br />the Northstar Corridor it was recommended that the original nine multi-modal transportation <br />strategies be reduced to five strategies. These strategies are then recommended to be brought <br />forward into the Phase IT portion of the Northstar Corridor Major Investment Study. The multi- <br />modal transportation strategies to be brought forward are as follows. <br /> <br />. Strategy 1 - No-Build <br /> <br />. Strategy 2 - Transportation Management and Bus Improvements <br /> <br />. Strategy 4 - Commuter Rail with Feeder Bus Improvements <br /> <br />· Strategy 5 - Commuter Rail, Feeder Bus Improvements, and TH 10 Minor Upgrade <br /> <br />· Strategy 6 - Commuter Rail, Feeder Bus Improvements, TH 10 Minor Upgrade, and River <br />Crossings <br /> <br />Improved sidewalks, pedestrian trails, streetscape improvements, landscaping, bicycle lanes, <br />bicycle trails, and bicycle facilities were candidate improvements for all of the strategies that were <br />evaluated. <br /> <br />Northstar Corridor Major Investment Study <br />Conceptual Definition of Alternatives <br />February 1999 <br /> <br />VII-l <br />
