APPUCATION FOR APPOINTMENT TO <br />CITY BOARD/COMMq5VON <br />IF LD 2 4 2011 <br />EDA, IIIA, AND LIBRARY BOARD <br />Terms beginning in January <br />Thank you for your interest in serving your community! Please indicate in order of preference on <br />which of the following boards and commissions you are interested in serving with 1 indicating your <br />first choice, 2 your second choice, and 3 your third choice. <br />Economic Development Authority <br />The EDA is composed of four Councilmembers and three citizens. The length of term for the <br />Councilmembers coincides with the term of office for Council. The length of term for the citizen - <br />members is six years. <br />Housing and Redevelopment Authority <br />The HRA consists of five Commissioners composed of one City Councilmember and four citizens at <br />large. The term of office is five years. <br />1 Library Board <br />The Library Board consists of five members. The term of office is three years. <br />See the specific board and commission description for additional information. <br />APPLICANT INFORMATION <br />Name: Rita Dreissig <br />City of Residence: Elk River <br />Occupation: Retired <br />Employer: <br />Statement of Interest: Please state briefly why you are interested in serving on this <br />board/commission for which you are submitting this application. <br />The library is a valuable resource in our community. As a library patron, a former <br />employee, a current volunteer, and a long time member of the community, I think I can <br />contribute and am interested in its workings and functions. <br />Education/Professional Experience: Describe your educational and professional experience or <br />skills that qualify you to serve on this board/commission. <br />I was employed by ISD 728 for 33 years, most of them as a library/specialist at the <br />junior high level. This was followed by 8 years as a library aide at the Elk River Public <br />Library. <br />Relevant Personal/Professional Experience: Please describe your professional, civic, or <br />community participation, which may be relevant in serving on this board/commission. <br />During my years with the school district, I served on professional development <br />committees, building and district level; the building advisory committee; and the teacher <br />relicensure committee. Since retirement, I have been involved in volunteer work <br />through RSVP, at the library and at the courthouse. <br />
