The existing CSAH 13 is in <br />reasonably good shape, having been overlaid in the late 1980's, however, <br />the new road will be in substantially better shape and will have a much <br />longer life cycle prior to needing any significant maintenance. <br />Therefore, Sherburne County will reimburse the City of Elk River, the <br />equivalent cost of a 1-1/2 inch overlay on the turnback portion of old <br />CSAH 13. <br />The City of Elk River agrees that the construction of the realigned <br />portion of CSAH 13 north of CSAH 12, including any land acquisition <br />necessary, will be funded entirely by the City of Elk River with no <br />contribution from Sherburne County. <br />The City of Elk River will overlay CSAH 13 from the point of the new <br />construction to the intersection of Tyler Street. This is approximately <br />1-1/2 miles. This again would be at no cost to Sherburne County. <br />The City of Elk River will install a signal system at the intersection of <br />old CSAH 13/CSAH 12/Main Street at no cost to Sherburne County. <br />When a signal system is warranted at the intersection of CSAH 12, <br />realigned CSAH 13, and Tyler Street, Sherburne County will fund 75 <br />percent of the signal system and the City of Elk River will fund 25 <br />percent of the signal system.
