Request will advance project time-frame, leverage other funding or compliment <br />current related activities <br />. Funding will be spent in a timely manner (idle money is available money) <br />. Sensitivity to deadlines and information requests is extremely important <br /> <br />A. Request Elements <br />1. Project summary <br />. Description- Vision for the corridor/planning study area <br />o articulate what the request is for - study work, design alternatives <br />development <br />o how the request will advance work or compliment/leverage other related <br />activities <br />o describe issues - population/traffic/regional growth, community support <br />o describe benefits: safety, traffic flow, economic development <br />. Reference materials- short/long range plans, corridor/community studies, <br />comprehensive plans <br />. Map(s), pictures, details of the study/project area <br />. Schedule/timeframe (without funding requested! if appropriation is received) <br />· Contact person(s) <br /> <br />2. Supporting infonnation <br />. Resolution of support- City Council <br />. Letters of support (if applicable)- business community, land developers, school <br />district, county government, Mn/OOT <br />. Relevant public meeting information- summaries, notes, comments <br />. Documents that identify the project, needs, support <br /> <br />3. Committee questionnaire <br />. Information needed by congressional committee responsible for identifying <br />projects and allocating resources <br />. Questionnaire provided by congressional office staff <br />o electronic submittal <br />o supporting paper documents (send to local congressional office) <br /> <br />B. Supporting activities <br />.
