A5 – Create a new ordinance? This could be a planning requirement. They already require a certain
amount of trees but could we add other requirements or substitutions? Work with planning commission
and City Council on an annual sustainability training.
C1-3 – Keep? I think this is a good program but there is no interest. Combine.
Modify the High 5 Program to include a self-auditing calculator.
C4 – remove? Change to remove Project Conserve and just encourage ERMU phone audits?
Distribute the ERMU Energy Guide to X residents (and businesses?) Monitor/survey results and
collect responses.
C7 – change to Step 5? And add something about maintaining that step. Or leave as is.
D4 – remove. These are no longer viable or economic.
D 7 – change to “porous pavement, a rain garden, a green roof, or other water conservation practice”
D10 – Change to ‘or “Sustainable Communities Partnership” with the University of St. Thomas’

To add:
- Create a Climate Action and Resiliency Plan in collaboration with the Climate Smart
Municipalities Partnership
- Invest in public electric vehicle charging stations
- Convert the City vehicle fleet to electric vehicles by adding at least one EV in 2018 and having at
least 5 in 2024.
- Sustain a youth group of at least 6 members, partnering with iMatter, during the school year to
assist with Energy City Commission goals.
- C 11 – Add something about city facilities purchasing a certain amount (100%) from renewable
sources?City Facilities will purchase 60% renewable energy by 2020; 100% by 2024.
- C 12 – The City will construct a solar demonstration site (rooftop, ground mount, or other) by
2024.
