This conference will be held on March 1 sl through March 5th, 1999. <br />I have attended this conference in previous years and have found it to be very beneficial <br />to my position with the City of Elk River as Building Official. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Provided for you with this memo is a copy of the outline of the conference. As you <br />review this information, you will notice that each day is filled with many areas of <br />continuing education. This year I would like to take the following classes; 1997 Means <br />of Egress, the Uniform Building Code Update, and Administration and Management of <br />Building Functions. With the adoption of the 1997 Uniform Building Code, I believe <br />these classes will be very beneficial being there has been such a dramatic change in the <br />1997 code writing. <br /> <br />Therefore, at this time I am requesting City Council approval to attend this conference. <br />The cost will be approximately $1,100.
