Date: November 10, 2000 Subject: Northstar Corridor - Response to City Resolution's on the Advanced Corridor Plan Rice The Northstar Corridor Project will review the station design plans with the cities at the completion of preliminary engineering and will work with the cities to achieve consistency with city zoning ordinances and development standards. St. Cloud/Town of Haven 2) 3) 4) 1) MnDOT will coordinate through District 3 the need for and timing of the frontage road improvements. Northstar Corridor Project supports Sherburne County designation of relocated Lincoln A venue as a county road. Northstar Corridor Project supports the installation of the traffic signal when warrants are met. However, the traffic signal is not initially needed for the commuter rail station to function. Further, the Northstar Corridor Project supports the relocation of Del-Tone Road. No acquisitions of property from adjacent existing businesses are planned for the commuter rail station. It should be noted, however, that if the frontage road were constructed as proposed in Item No. I, acquisition of a portion of the existing businesses north of the commuter rail site would be required. The Northstar Corridor Project will provide space on the site for the potential Amtrak station relocation and will assist with contacts with Amtrak, BNSF and the State Historical Preservation Office (SHPO) for the City to pursue this issue.
