Northeast.Minneapolis with commuter. rail stations. <br /> <br />Be It Further Hesolved that the City approves the site location ,.,f the f1n,,"'!"ltown Minneapolis <br />station conditioned upon.specific.pJanning and technical work, and coordination with parties <br />including the NCOA, the Hiawatha {LRT) Project Office, Hennepin County, and Metro Transit, <br />that relates to the following issues with the Downtown station: <br /> <br />· Skyway connections <br />· Non-skyway pedestrian connections from downtown streets <br />· Cedar lake Trail and other bicycle connections near the station area <br />· Vehicle circulation. to and from- tbestation <br />· Interconnection with-Hiawatha LRT and otherfuture.transitconnections <br />· Identification of future land uses at or near the station, as well as deSign guidelines, as a <br />result of master planning work sponsored by Hennepin County for the intermodal station <br />area <br /> <br />Be it Further- Resolved that the C<<y approves a Northstar Northeast Station conditioned <br />upon further technical-and. planning consideration of a 7th Street OR LOWRY AVENUE AREA <br />alternative to the. Centr.allBroadway station. ~e.~n. recoanitionthat we are Dart of a reaional <br />transDortationsvstem; the NCDA, the City .of Minneapolis, Metro T-ransit and- others should <br />continue to -exPlore issues-related to connections with bus transit, connection to a possible <br />future CentralConidor/Red Rock.Commuter Rail,landuse .context, and urban design. Better <br />data for. btJs .transit connections with. the Northeast station, as well as data on potential transfers <br />between each proposed commuter rail line, should be obtained. <br /> <br />Be It Further Resolved that the City recognizes that a Harrison Street station is technically <br />unfeasible. <br /> <br />Be it Further Resolved that transit should create opportunity. not isolation. for all MinneaDolis <br />
