Background/Discussion Case No. LU 16-02 Staff seeks a Land Use Amendment to update the city Land Use Map. In 2014, the city adopted an updated Comprehensive Plan. In the plan, a Land Use Map was generated for making land use decisions. The legibility of the map, especially when enlarged,is poor. Staff converted the map into a digital format that can be easily read at any scale and in the process a number of minor map errors were found. Most related to the Open Space designation where many of our parks did not fall into that category and Public/Institutional properties that were labeled as Open Space. Because of the errors and subsequent land use amendments since 2014, staff requests adoption of the proposed Land Use Map as the official map. On the attached exhibit, the properties with recommended changes have a blue revision cloud drawn around them with blue letters in/near them. The letters indicate the land use as approved on the 2014 map,while the fill color is the proposed land use. If the City Council,when reviewing the proposed map, identifies any other errors or areas that should be considered,please bring them forward. Planning Commission Meeting Summary No one spoke for or against the request and the Planning Commission had no comments or concerns. Staff has not received any comments since the Planning Commission meeting. The Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the request.
