Housing and Redevelopment Minutes Page 2 <br /> November 7,2016 <br /> 6.I Public Hearings <br /> There were no public hearings. <br /> 7.1 HRA Rehabilitation Loan Program Update <br /> Ms. Eddy provided an update on recent Rehab Program. She explained that no bids were <br /> received for the 806 Holt property,due to contractors being very busy this time of year. <br /> Chair Toth asked if the properties on the waiting list have been moved up. Ms. Eddy stated <br /> yes,that the properties on 5th Street,Holt and Gates are going through the process. She <br /> noted that one will require the full$25,000 and the other two are in the$10,000 -$15,000 <br /> range. Commissioner Chuba asked if they are still getting leads. Ms. Eddy stated that staff is <br /> still receiving calls from the article in the Star News,but the properties are outside the <br /> targeted area. Ms. Eddy stated she still explains the process to interested callers,in case their <br /> property does become eligible at some point. <br /> 7.2 HRA Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program Discussion <br /> Ms. Eddy discussed the expansion of the targeted area proposed at the last work session. <br /> She stated that the HRA could make a recommendation on the expansion,if they were ready <br /> to move forward. <br /> Commissioner Kuester stated she would support adding the area in blue,as well as the <br /> orange area city-wide. Discussion followed regarding how many homes this might add. Ms. <br /> Eddy stated that she could bring back the actual number at the next meeting. <br /> After further discussion,it was the consensus of the HRA to add the area shown in blue on <br /> the map provided. In addition the HRA was interested in including the homes dated 1851 — <br /> 1930,as well as the area on the east side of Xenia. After discussion,the HRA stated their <br /> support for the default language,but asked that staff have the city attorney look it over to <br /> make sure there were no issues. <br /> Motion by Commissioner Chuba and seconded by Commissioner Kuester to approve <br /> the amended default language, subject to legal counsel approval. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> 8. Announcements <br /> There were no announcements. <br /> 9.1 Worksession — Mississippi Connections Plan Discussion (5:54 p.m.) <br /> Ms. Othoudt led discussion of a possible long-term plan for redeveloping East Main Street. <br /> The proposal included the HRA acquiring the selected properties as they became available <br /> for purchase,with the intent to assemble the properties for a future office/business <br /> development. She suggested that the HRA rent out the properties until they were ready to <br /> redevelop the site. <br />
