With discussion,the commission agreed to give Mroz authority to accept the <br /> applications in between regular scheduled meetings until the committee is made up <br /> of 11 members. <br /> 5.2 Climate Smart Municipalities <br /> Mroz provided a PowerPoint summary of the delegation trip to Germany in July. <br /> Mroz also discussed the upcoming visit from the German delegates to Minnesota in <br /> October.Westgaard suggested the Wastewater Treatment Plant as a tour. Curtis <br /> suggested marketing our recreation opportunities in Elk River. Sagstetter suggested <br /> the SHERCO plant as a possible tour. <br /> 5.3 EV Charger Grant <br /> Sagstetter discussed the APPA DEED grant for$100,000 for EV charging station <br /> infrastructure and education campaign.The Elk River Municipal Utilities will apply <br /> and have met with various groups and the Utility Board to get input on the <br /> application.A decision will be sent in October. <br /> 5.4 Signage <br /> Curtis suggested that both interior and exterior signage is needed. Specific signage <br /> opportunities include information on the LED traffic lights,Energy City <br /> Commission, Greenstep Cities Step 4, Sustainable Communities Partnership, Climate <br /> Smart Municipalities partnership. <br /> Westgaard suggested working with Michael Hecker on Woodland Trails signage. <br /> Hamann suggest solar charging signs. Sagstetter suggested utilizing EV charging <br /> stations.Westgaard mentioned talking to RaeAnn Gardner about Wayfinding and <br /> utilizing an international symbol for energy. <br /> 6.
