Jane Walters on behalf of Lloyd Daluge <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br /> <br />Ms. Walters is requesting that her father be able to use a golf cart on Dodge <br />Street as a means of transportation. Her father recently had a leg amputated. <br />As indicated in her letter, the golf cart will be equipped with running lights, <br />flashing lights, slow moving vehicle sign, and a strobe light. The cart will <br />only be used on Dodge Street and not on the highways. <br /> <br />The Police Chiefhas indicated that there should be no problems as long as <br />the vehicle is not used on major highways and only on city streets. This type <br />of issue has been before the Council a couple of other times and the requests <br />have been granted. <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> <br />Council motion authorizing the use of a golf cart on city streets by Lloyd <br />Daluge. <br /> <br />. s: \ council \ golf cart. doc <br /> <br />13065 Orono Parkway.
