Additionally, Council
direction did not require edges of outdoor storage areas adjacent to industrial districts to be
defined beyond the edge of the approved surface. Staff recommends requiring B612 curbing,
which is consistent with the standard for defining parking areas. This will ensure the long-term
goal of containing the outdoor storage to a defined space and size.
5. Outdoor storage shall follow the accessory structure setbacks for each district where storage is
permitted.
6. Designated parking areas, or areas striped for parking, may not be used for outdoor storage
purposes.
The adopted definition of outdoor storage will be included in Sec. 30-1. Definitions, and the performance
standards will be included in a new section specific to outdoor storage.
Financial Impact
Publication costs
Attachments
• APA Definitions for Outdoor Storage
• Council Minutes from August 1, 2016, Outdoor Storage Discussion
