Minutes of the Sherburne/Wright County Cable Commission <br /> Thursday, February 4, 2016, 1:00 p.m. <br /> Maple Lake City Hall <br /> Present: Chair Tina Allard, Commissioners Merton Auger, Kitty Baltos, Jim Bart, Phil Kern, <br /> Annita Smythe, and Lee Ann Yager. <br /> Absent: Dan Madsen,Terri Boese,Gina Wolbeck, and Attorney Robert Vose. <br /> Also present: Technology Consultant Bill Bruce and Video Production Coordinator Mark Davis. <br /> 1. Call to Order-Chair Tina Allard called the meeting to order at 1:04 p.m. <br /> 2. Approval of Minutes—November 5, 2015 <br /> Commissioner Kern motioned to approve the November 5, 2015 Sherburne Wright <br /> Cable Commission Meeting Minutes as presented. Seconded by Commissioner Kitty <br /> Baltos, unanimous ayes, motion carried. <br /> 3. Treasurer's Report <br /> a. Financial Statements — Commissioner Auger presented the financial statements as <br /> outlined in the staff report. <br /> b. Return of Franchise Fees — Commissioner Auger informed the Commission that the <br /> next payment is projected to be in March 2016. <br /> Commissioner Bart motioned to approve the Treasurer's Report. Seconded by <br /> Commissioner Smythe,unanimous ayes, motion carried. <br /> 4. Attorney's Report <br /> a. Commission Attorney Bob Vose was unable to attend the meeting due to the death of <br /> his father. <br /> 5. Equipment Report - Bill Bruce presented the equipment report. Bruce discussed the <br /> upgrade of the Video on Demand service (PEG Central) to VieBit.They have been working <br /> with Leightronix preparing for this change and noted they are not charging a fee to do this <br /> and they haven't changed their rates. He is also working with Leightronix on the change <br /> to HD. He recommends a trade-in of the current SD Nexus as a final step to prepare for <br /> the HD transition. He is also requesting the purchase of a file recorder for the trailer <br /> which makes an H.264 copy which is compatible with the Nexus units. Bruce reported <br /> that a permanent heater has been installed in the trailer for winter shoots and reviewed <br /> other various equipment repairs and upgrades, and stated that he and Davis will be doing <br /> a class at the Spectrum School in Elk River as part of their Career Day. Bruce also <br /> discussed ongoing repairs in all the member cities as well as a scheduled equipment <br /> upgrade in Dassel. <br /> Commissioner Baltos motioned to approve the purchase of the 1 LABvault File Recorder <br /> at a cost of$4,495. Seconded by Commissioner Kern, unanimous ayes, motion carried. <br />
