The city, chamber, and Senator Mary Kiffineyer, are <br /> planning to visit 11 manufacturers on October 5. All manufacturers'will receive a post card thanking <br /> them for doing business in Elk River and will include interesting statistics on manufacturing. <br /> City and chamber staff has been hearing a consistent message from our local manufacturers that there is a <br /> shortage of skilled workforce in the area. In an effort to recruit, and attract, and educate our local high <br /> school students and their parents about the manufacturing industry,the city partnered with the chamber <br /> and school district on a Student to Career Manufacturing video which will be aired during this presentation. <br /> The three partners worked with the Industrial Technology teacher at Elk River High School and the <br /> seniors who produced this video which will be aired on the cities, chambers and school district websites. <br /> The video highlights career advancement opportunities offered by three of Elk River's local <br /> manufacturers. <br /> Financial Impact <br /> N/A <br /> Attachments <br /> N/A <br /> POWERED 0 <br /> UREJ <br />
