EGty1� ,.,�� Request for Action <br /> River <br /> To Item Number <br /> Mayor and City Council 4.3 <br /> Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br /> Consent October 3, 2016 Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> Item Description Reviewed by <br /> Labor Agreement Between The City of Elk River Lauren Wipper, HR Representative <br /> and IOUE Local#49 Reviewed by <br /> Lori Ziemer, Finance Director <br /> Action Requested <br /> Approve,by motion, a labor agreement between the City of Elk River and the International Union of <br /> Operating Engineers Local Number 49,with wages and city health insurance contributions effective <br /> January 1, 2016, through December 31, 2017. <br /> Background/Discussion <br /> Streets Maintenance, Parks Maintenance, and Building Maintenance personnel elected to be represented <br /> by IUOE Local#49. The bargaining unit includes 23 employees including park,building, and street <br /> maintenance operators and respective leads, mechanics,building technician, and custodians. <br /> A tentative agreement was reached on July 28, 2016,with the assistance of the Minnesota Bureau of <br /> Mediation Services. <br /> The contract includes 2016 and 2017 wage increases and employee benefits consistent with non-union <br /> employees. <br /> Financial Impact <br /> Retroactive wages and health insurance benefits were accounted for in contingency in the approved 2016 <br /> budget.
