of vehicles for salvage or processing off site and to evaluate the current tree planting requirements, <br />specifically as they relate to developed sites. Staff presented ordinance amendments (OA 16-10 & OA <br />16-11) to both of these items on September 19, 2016. <br />Vehicles <br />With an approval of OA 16-10, the staging of motor vehicles for processing off site shall be permitted in <br />Recycling Processing Centers. The salvage of motor vehicles and machinery parts will continue to be <br />prohibited. <br />Landscaping <br />With an approval of OA 16-11, the credit for existing trees will increase, resulting in the subject property <br />meeting the tree requirements of the ordinance. The existing site has credit for 43 trees with the new <br />ordinace. <br />Fencing <br />At their August 1, 2016, work session, the City Council indicated they would not require fencing along <br />the east and south property lines as the adjacent properties are industrial. Some of the non-traditional <br />industrial uses that can occur in industrial districts are: <br />■ Offices <br />■ Medical, dental, and optical labs <br />■ Retail sales <br />■ Drycleaners <br />■ Government offices <br />■ Brewer taprooms <br />■ Research and design facilities <br />The applicant is proposing chain link fencing with vinyl slats.
