Manufactured exports bring nearly$18.9 billion into Minnesota's economy in <br /> 2015. <br /> Most manufacturing jobs in Minnesota are concentrated in the following products: food products, <br /> computer and electronic products, fabricated metal products,machinery printing,medical devices, <br /> plastics, and transportation equipment. <br /> Minnesota has 311,880 manufacturing jobs statewide,which is 13 percent of all private-sector jobs. <br /> According to the National Association of Manufacturers, the average manufacturing job supports another <br /> 1.58 jobs in other segments of Minnesota's economy, such as jobs in sales, marketing, shipping, <br /> professional services and more. That's another 493,000 jobs. Combined then,manufacturing supports <br /> almost 805,000 jobs, or 30 percent of total employment in the state. <br /> Manufacturing has the second-largest total payroll of any private-sector industry at$20 billion annually in <br /> 2015. Manufacturing pays an average annual wage of$61,048.
